Energy Medicine

Energy medicine is the manipulation of bio-energy fields for healing as well as health maintenance.  All biological systems (humans too) have bio-energy fields…electrical, magnetic, light, etc.  It is been believed, in many healing systems, that disturbances in these bio-energy fields can result in illness and disease and that lifestyle, stress and illness affect bio-energy fields.

The benefit from energy medicine is two-fold: Balancing the flow of energy can enhance healing – like the benefits from acupuncture; Adding energy to areas where energy is low can strengthen the patient and enhance the clinical response. 

Medical conditions that can benefit from energy medicine including but not restricted to:

• Chronic fatigue
• Fibromyalgia/CFS
• Acute and chronic pain
• Irritable bowel syndrome
• Insomnia
• Cancer
• Anxiety
• PTSD
• ADD/ADHD

There are many forms of energy-based therapies including Reiki, therapeutic touch, healing touch, qigong, etc.  Medical research is showing benefit for energy-based healing as part of an overall clinical approach. 

Dr. Massey is unique in the integrative medicine community in that he is the energy healer at ALT-MED Medical and Physical Therapy.  He has been doing successful energy healing for many years.  Over the years, he has had (and continues to have) extensive education and training in energy healing systems.

Sessions last for about 30 minutes.  During that time, Dr. Massey's hands get very warm as energy flows from Dr. Massey to the patient.  Some have even felt a slight “electrical” sensation from Dr. Massey's hands during the treatment.  Patients often have a feeling of profound relaxation during the session…and this persists long after the session is over.

Although dramatic results can happen in a short time, most patients need a series of treatments for optimal results.
